Jerome awards $2.207 million Fillmore Street rehab contract to Triple J Excavation

City Engineer Tyson Carpenter told the council five bids were received for the Fillmore Street Rehabilitation project, which will rebuild the roadway from Main Street to Avenue I and add curb, gutter and sidewalks where none exist. Carpenter reported the bids ranged from $2.2 million to $3.2 million and recommended awarding the contract to Triple J Excavation, LLC, the lowest responsive bidder at $2,207,251.50; he said the engineer’s estimate was approximately $2.65 million.
Councilman Bryan Craig moved to award the contract to Triple J Excavation, and Councilman Dale Ross seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The project scope includes full roadway reconstruction and water-service replacements; Carpenter said he is comfortable with Triple J’s bid despite limited local experience and noted positive input from J-U-B staff who reviewed the submittal.
