Buncombe County's Board of Adjustment voted Feb. 12 to grant a special-use permit (ZPH2024-00004) for a planned unit development at 330 Warren Bridge Road. Staff recommended conditions including that the on-site pool be accessible only to the main house when rented by a single group, that the barn not be used as an event space, and that construction follow the submitted site plan and secure required permits from relevant agencies.
Applicant Marvin Odebear described plans to add seven small cabins (about 500 square feet each) to the existing property to create a total of eight rental units, with a private driveway and septic work informed by soil reports. "The plan is to build 7 small cabins, 500 approximately 500 square foot each, 1 bedroom units," Odebear said during his presentation. He also described fencing and a separate driveway to address adjacent cemetery owner concerns. After staff and applicant presentations and no witnesses requesting to speak, the board adopted findings of fact, attached the recommended conditions, and approved the special-use permit; staff will prepare the final order reflecting the conditions and required site-plan steps.
