Beckville ISD approves engagement of Linebarger for property-value audit if needed

Business officer Charmaine Chappell briefed the board on a proposed engagement with Linebarger’s appraisal-audit division to represent Beckville ISD on property-value protests for 2023 and 2024. Chappell said the district has discussed the option for two years and that certified appraiser Robby Harbuck would provide representation. She stated a contingency fee of 10% would apply only if the district required representation.
Superintendent Devin Tate noted the district expects to know whether representation is needed around Jan. 30 and urged trustees to have a plan in case property values fail to pass. Trustee Justin Davis moved to approve engaging Linebarger for a property-value audit; Trustee Tim Jones seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
