Trustees cast all 389 Beckville ISD votes for Cody Whiddon in Panola appraisal-district ballot
Summary
On Nov. 10 trustees voted to assign all 389 of the district's appraisal-district votes to Cody Whiddon for the Panola County Appraisal District official ballot; motion by Clayton McGuire, seconded by Tim Jones, carried unanimously.
Superintendent Devin Tate recommended allocating Beckville ISD’s full allotment of 389 votes on the Panola County Appraisal District official ballot to Cody Whiddon to succeed Keith Williams. Trustee Clayton McGuire moved that the board place all 389 votes for Whiddon; Trustee Tim Jones seconded the motion and the board approved it unanimously.
Tate noted the district had previously worked with Keith Williams and indicated that electing an allied representative to the appraisal-district board could assist the district in property-value matters, though the appraisal district does not work for the district directly.
