At the meeting trustees recognized staff and students for September Bulldog awards. Kindergarten teacher Holly Wilcox was named Elementary Staff Bulldog of the Month; trustees praised her flexibility and dedication after she moved from Pre-K to Kindergarten. Jennifer Thompson was named Secondary Staff Bulldog of the Month. Several elementary students (Eliza Luna, Isabella Martinez, Abigail Perez, Stevon Johnson, Vincent Gonzales, Henry Nunez and Annabeth George) were recognized for mastering the math STAAR practice, and seniors Zachary Huebner and Dylan Brown were named Secondary Student Bulldogs of the Month.
Board members and administrators highlighted staff teamwork and student extracurricular participation; Huebner and Brown were noted for involvement in band, football, FCCLA and other activities. The recognitions were presented as part of the meeting's routine acknowledgments and required no board action.
