The Barbers Hill ISD Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda on Jan. 26, which included the Dec. 15, 2025 minutes, the district’s December 2025 financial report and acceptance of a $25,000 cash donation from the Mont Belvieu Chamber of Commerce. The donation was conditional: the donor requested the funds be used for students identified by the district social worker.
The board packet notes that Policy CDC (Local) delegates authority to the superintendent to accept unsolicited gifts, but gifts conditional on specific uses or gifts of real property require board approval; the board voted to accept the donation by the recorded motion (6–0). The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Trustee Becky Tice and seconded by Trustee Benny May.
