Ballinger ISD board approves routine items, cancels Nov. 4 election after unopposed races

The Ballinger ISD Board of Trustees approved several routine agenda items during its Sept. 8, 2025 regular meeting, including minutes from Aug. 11 and Aug. 25, a bank-reconciliation contract for 2025–26 with Carolyn Carson, and campus improvement plans for the 2025–26 school year.
Board action on these items was unanimous. Mr. Jason Battle moved to approve the minutes; Mrs. Michelle Aguilera seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The Board later approved the 2025–26 bank reconciliation contract with Carolyn Carson (motion by Mr. Battle; second by Mrs. Aguilera) and the Elementary and Secondary Campus Improvement Plans (motion by Mr. Battle; second by Mr. Scott King).
The Board also certified that candidates in Single Member Districts 2 and 7 were unopposed for the Nov. 4, 2025 School Board Election; by separate motion the trustees canceled the election because the races were uncontested. Mr. Strube moved to cancel the election, seconded by Mr. Stephen King; the motion passed unanimously.
Other procedural actions included revising the 2025–26 calendar to designate Dec. 3, 2025 as a student holiday/staff workday while BISD hosts Elementary and Junior High Academic UIL. Mr. Scott King moved and Mrs. Cheryl Buchanan seconded the calendar revision, which passed unanimously.
These items were considered under consent-style action with no substantive debate recorded in the minutes.
