Barbers Hill ISD board approves consent agenda, OKs TEA waiver to allow remote homebound instruction

The waiver application states that "the homebound teacher will deliver homebound instruction remotely 4 hours per week" for a student whose placement followed a Section 504 committee decision and whose conduct presented safety concerns for staff. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Trustee Benny May and seconded by Trustee Becky Tice; the vote was recorded as unanimous.
Also on the consent agenda the board approved minutes from the Oct. 27 public hearing and regular meeting and accepted the October 2025 financial report. The waiver, if approved by TEA, will be submitted for agency review as the district proceeds with the 2025–26 school year.
