"to approve the Notice of Public Meeting to discuss and approve the 2025-26 Budget and the 2025 Tax Rate as presented with correction of meeting date," Mr. Scott King moved; Mr. Battle seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board’s Superintendent said the next regular board meeting is scheduled for Sept. 8, 2025, and staff had previously discussed an Aug. 25 Called Meeting tied to the public notice. The Superintendent also said a brief Aug. 29 noon meeting may be needed to adopt any last-minute amendments to the 2024-25 budget.
The board’s action starts the legally required public-notice process for tax-rate adoption and gives staff authority to set a final adoption schedule; trustees did not adopt the tax rate at the Aug. 11 meeting. The motion and the associated public notice were approved unanimously.
