On Aug. 11 the Big Spring ISD Board approved a set of administrative contracts and policy updates. The board approved an adjunct faculty agreement with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service — Howard County for the 2025–26 school year (Motion #6121). The board also approved updates to several (LOCAL) policies covering student welfare, admissions, student activities and electronic device rules (Motion #6133).
Separately the board approved an expenditure over $150,000 to procure contract speech therapy services (RFP No. 2025-001) to be paid to Shine Speech Therapy; the motion was moved by Tom Olague and seconded by Bert Otto and carried 4-0 (Motion #6134). The minutes record motions and approvals but do not include contract amounts beyond indicating the expenditure exceeds $150,000 or the full contract language in the packet.
