The Bellville Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 7-0 to enter a closed executive session during its May 11, 2026, agenda review meeting. The motion to enter closed session was made by Heather Novicke and seconded by Board Vice President Sarah Buenger at 7:42 p.m.
According to the minutes, the board met in executive session to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee (section 551.074); to discuss the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property (section 551.072); to consult with the board's attorney under section 551.071; and to review the Bellville ISD District Vulnerability Assessment (sections 551.076 and 551.089). The record lists the cited Texas Government Code sections in the meeting minutes.
After the closed session the board reconvened in open session and the minutes state that "No action was taken or discussed." The agenda review thus recorded deliberations on personnel, property, legal consultation and a security assessment but no formal decisions or votes related to those topics were documented in open session.
