Bells ISD trustees set May 2 board election and early voting schedule

Bells ISD trustees voted on Feb. 9 to contract with Grayson County Election Administration to conduct the district's May 2, 2026, Board of Trustees election and approved the formal order establishing voting dates and locations.
Trustee Lonnie Carter moved to approve the contract; Trustee Stephanie Nettles seconded the motion, which passed with six votes. The board also approved the election order specifying two three‑year at‑large trustee seats, polling at Bells City Hall or any Grayson County voting center on May 2, 2026, and early voting hours on April 20; April 22–24; and April 27–28, 2026. The early voting clerk’s mailing address was recorded as Grayson County Early Voting Clerk, 115 W. Houston Street, Sherman, TX 75090.
The board later set Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bells ISD Administration Building as the date to canvass election results. Trustees Dava Washburn and Lonnie Carter agreed to attend the canvass with Cole Kimberling and Jeremy Moore named as alternates.
"A motion was made by Lonnie Carter, seconded by Stephanie Nettles that the Board approve the contract with the Grayson County Election Administration to conduct the May 2, 2026, Board of Trustees election. Motion passed with 6 votes," the minutes state.
