At its Dec. 15 meeting, the Bryan ISD Board of Trustees recognized teachers, staff and community partners across district campuses.
Ross Elementary Principal Amy Thomman introduced Ross Teacher of the Month Elizabeth Wright; Neal Elementary Principal Juanita Ontiberos introduced Neal Teacher of the Month Latonya Felder. Rudder High School Principal Rachel Layton introduced Rudder teacher of the month Justin Barrett. Alonso Robles of Truist Bank presented gift cards to the teachers and auxiliary employees of the month.
Director of Counseling Services Donna Willett and Sarah Braden of the Bryan ISD Education Foundation announced two new comfort dogs joining campuses (Mochi at Neal Elementary with Sara Dolivera and Reese at Ross Elementary with Aaron Gneiding) and presented the Give Joy Foundation with an Essential Eight Community Partnership Award. Director of Career & Technical Education Laura King introduced Parker Knutson and the Rudder eSports Rocket League team and celebrated their national ranking.
These recognitions were presented as part of the meeting's spotlight agenda and carried no board action; the board acknowledged the honorees and community partners during the ceremony portion of the meeting.
