Bryan ISD board approves 2026–2027 academic calendar

The Bryan Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the district's 2026'2027 academic calendar at its Dec. 15 regular meeting after the administration recommended Option 1.
Director of Counseling Services Donna Willett presented the calendar survey results and the administration recommendation. "I move approval of the 2026-2027 District Academic Calendar as presented," said Julie Harlin when making the motion; Ruthie Waller seconded and the board voted 7'0yea, 0'nay.
District officials said the calendar recommendation follows the survey and scheduling priorities laid out by staff; the board's approval means the school year schedule, including start and end dates and major student holidays, will proceed under the adopted option. The motion to adopt followed the consent agenda and other informational presentations earlier in the meeting.
The board convened in a closed session later in the evening and reconvened; no action was reported as resulting from closed session. The calendar will be communicated to campuses, families, and posted on the district's website as the adopted schedule.
