The Brock ISD Board of Trustees voted Oct. 20 to adopt a resolution establishing equitable access to technology and a 1:1 Chromebook initiative for students in grades 6–12. Superintendent Dr. Shannon Luis and Trustee Toby Farmer presented the plan, which includes issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Chromebooks and targeting implementation in the 2026–27 school year.
The motion to adopt the Board Resolution passed unanimously, 6-0 (For: Brunner, Hays, McGuire, Farmer, Kimball, Lindley). District materials state the initiative is intended to provide a device for every student in grades 6–12 to check out for use during and after school; the RFP process will determine timelines, device specs, and procurement costs.
