Brock ISD board approves budgets, pay scales and policy updates; approves free student admission resolution, defeats lobbying prohibition

During the Aug. 11 meeting the Board took multiple formal actions. Motions carried to postpone the District and Campus Improvement Plans for a special meeting and to amend the 2025–26 general operating budget (motion by Dr. Katarina Lindley, carried 6-0). Trustees approved the 2025–26 teacher and counselor/librarian/nurse pay scales and the TASB Localized Policy Manual Update 125 (LOCAL policies). The Board also approved revisions to EFB(Local) and FNCE(Local) and adopted the 2025–2026 appraisal calendar.
The Board approved a resolution recognizing Parker County 4-H as extracurricular and county extension agents as adjunct faculty for 2025–26 (6-0). Trustees approved a resolution to provide free admission for all Brock ISD students to district-sponsored extracurricular events (6-0). A resolution to prohibit public funding for lobbying activities failed 5-1 (Toby Farmer in favor; John McGuire, John Brunner, Tommy Hays, Lacy Kimball and Dr. Katarina Lindley opposed). In closed session the Board considered security-device matters and subsequently approved recommended guardians on reconvening.
