Board authorizes superintendent to sign contracts, approves multiple certified and non-certified contracts

A board resolution authorizing the superintendent to act as Board Designee and enter into binding employment contracts during March, April, May, June, July and August passed on a motion by Jerry McInnis and seconded by Paul Zoch. The purpose stated in the minutes was to recruit and employ the most qualified candidates for professional vacancies.
Following executive session, trustees approved multiple contract categories: Non-Certified One-Year Team Contracts (BCISD Police & Special Education); Certified Two-Year Term Contract for BCMS; Certified One-Year Term Contracts for Special Education, BCHS, BCMS, BCI & BCE (Judy Cole recorded an abstention on that item); Certified Dual One-Year Term Contracts for BCHS & BCMS; One-Year Term Non-Chapter 21 Contracts for BCHS, BCMS, BCI & BCE; Dual One-Year Term Non-Chapter 21 Contracts for BCHS & BCMS; Probationary Contracts for Special Education, BCHS, BCI & BCE; and Dual Probationary Contracts for BCMS. Most motions passed unanimously; one certified one-year contract motion recorded an abstention by Trustee Judy Cole.
