South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue reports firefighter recovery and wildland coordination

Jennifer Krusing of South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue updated the council that the department welcomed home two firefighters injured during the Chelan Hills incident. She reported that with wildland fire season underway SPOFR is coordinating early-warning plans and contingency preparations with the City, hospital, schools and the PUD.
Krusing also noted successful community engagement at the senior parade and rodeo and ongoing public training efforts such as CPR classes. The department reiterated support for traffic control at local events and continued collaboration with the City on fire-season readiness.
