Bridge City ISD board directs superintendent, attorney to proceed in two TEA/SOAH special‑education dockets

Following an executive session Dec. 15, the Bridge City ISD Board reconvened and unanimously voted to accept the recommendation of Superintendent Dr. Mike Kelly and the district attorney and to direct them to proceed as discussed in closed session in two pending special‑education matters. The dockets are recorded in the minutes as TEA Docket No. 100‑SE‑1025 (SOAH Docket No. 701‑26‑04445, C.N., b/n/f B.N. v. Bridge City Independent School District) and TEA Docket No. 101‑SE‑1025 (SOAH Docket No. 701‑26‑04446, D.N., b/n/f B.N. v. Bridge City Independent School District).
Board President Rebecca Rutledge recessed into executive session at 6:40 p.m. under Texas Government Code §§551.071, 551.0821, 551.087 and 551.129 to discuss attorney consultation, student‑privacy matters and deliberation of commercial or financial information. "A motion was made by Thad Hill and seconded by Paul Zoch to accept the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools and the School District's Attorney and to direct the Superintendent and the School District's Attorney to proceed, as discussed in closed session," the minutes state. The motion passed with all trustees recorded in favor.
