The Brenham Independent School District Board of Trustees formally canvassed the returns of its recent bond election and declared Proposition A passed, authorizing the issuance of $39,000,000 in bonds.
Board President (S1) read the official returns and noted that “A majority of the resident qualifier qualified voters of the Brenham ISD voting in the election voted for the authorization and insurance of $39,000,000 of bonds.” The board then adopted a resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results. Trustee Justin Collie moved to adopt the resolution; Kelvin Raven seconded the motion, and the motion carried.
At a subsequent update, the superintendent (S14) said the district will begin post‑election steps, including issuing an RFQ to hire an architect, selecting a construction manager and preparing documents for the Texas Attorney General’s office. The superintendent said the AG’s approval typically takes about four to six weeks and estimated the bond sale could occur as early as late winter to spring, though the district’s financial adviser suggested an optimistic target toward the end of February.
