Hudson City staff presented an August report on youth summer programming, saying the department registered 179 campers this year with an average daily attendance of about 85.
S3 (Staff member) said partnerships with the school district provided daily breakfasts and lunches and that the district delivered about 120 weekend meal bags each Friday to support families. S3 credited county DSS and a transportation vendor with keeping busing available so campers could attend, and listed partner organizations that provided programming support, including a conservancy for nature activities and a volunteer who led canoeing.
Program highlights included canoeing for older campers, a now-shortened theater improv component, a DJ program run with the library and a community bike shop operation led this year by Corey Parks while the prior lead, Erin, is on leave. S3 invited council members to the camp finale/town show (banner contest, games and a talent show) starting at 11 a.m. on the scheduled day.
