A council committee discussed a new outreach push for the senior center after a small survey found low awareness and transportation problems.
S2, a committee member who led the survey effort, said the paper surveys left at a local site (Bliss) returned only five responses and that “not a single 1 was” familiar with the senior-center programs; most respondents reported difficulty getting to the center. S2 proposed a slate of activities to attract attendees, including workshops on taxes and Medicaid/Medicare enrollment, field trips, arts and crafts, gardening and various social games such as bingo.
S1 (Chair) and others suggested boosting online visibility by posting the Google form and photos on community Facebook pages and leaving posters and paper surveys at partner sites. S1 also raised a possible Sept. 4–5 outing on an ADA-accessible catamaran and asked for a point person to help seniors complete required waivers. S1 said the boat can hold “up to 15 at 16” people and organizers could run smaller groups if needed.
Council members agreed to leave the survey up through September and to follow up with local partners to increase responses; no formal vote or new funding was recorded.
