Bosqueville ISD trustees hear budget, enrollment and safety updates in April meeting

The Bosqueville ISD board on April 13 received administrative reports that included enrollment totals and a preliminary update on next year's budget. Elementary enrollment was reported at 322 students, middle school at 184 and high school at 214; the board was told the district is awaiting updated funding numbers from ESC Region 12 for the 2026–2027 budget.

District leaders outlined next steps for budget work: a budget committee meeting is planned for the first week of May, end‑of‑year surveys for parents, students and staff will be distributed in the first week of May with results reviewed at the June meeting, and administrators noted continued monitoring of legislative changes from the 89th session. The board also heard that a mid‑sized legislative meeting is scheduled for July 20 and that the district is reviewing how salary levels are affecting teachers, paraprofessionals and auxiliary staff.

On facilities and safety, trustees were told the district will explore retrofitting buses with seat belts and that grant funding may be available for such retrofits. Administrators said an RFP for a proposed field house would be ready in May and that painting and preparation work for existing facilities is estimated at $15,000–$16,000. The superintendent's report also summarized attendance at the TASA/TPAC meeting with Curriculum Director Melissa Adams and noted a NASA tour attended by 29 schools.
