Developer withdraws industrial rezoning after neighborhood opposition on Gordon Highway

Several residents and neighbors testified in opposition before the commission, raising concerns about increased truck traffic on a two‑lane Gordon Highway, dust and air-quality impacts from crushing and concrete operations, and possible impacts to well water. One speaker said "This is floating straight into the Gordon Highway... it's 2 lanes, and I think it's just too much for that area." After hearing public comment, the commission voted to accept the applicant’s withdrawal without prejudice. The withdrawal means no further commission recommendation is being forwarded to the Board of Commissioners on this parcel at this time.
