At a public hearing required by state law, a district official reported that Bonham ISD received a "superior achievement" rating with a score of 96 based on the 2023-24 audited financial statements.
"I'm proud to report that the district received a superior achievement, which is an a with a score of 96," the presenter said while explaining the rating structure. The official described that indicators 1 through 6 are pass/fail (and the district passed all), indicators 7 through 15 use a point scale (with full points awarded except on indicators 11 and 12, tied to property values and debt), and indicators 16 through 21 combine pass/fail and point components.
The presenter noted statewide comparisons, saying about 84.68% of districts received a superior rating. Board members invited the public to review the full report and offered the presenter's contact information for follow-up questions. The hearing was informational; no board action was taken on the rating itself during the meeting.
