Northfield council adopts consent agenda approving facility permits, inspection contract and Wabash change order

On Feb. 24 the City of Northfield council approved Resolutions 84-2026 through 94-2026 by consent, authorizing multiple facility-use permits, awarding a private on-site plumbing inspection contract to Trinity Code Inspections LLC, and approving Work Change Order No. 1 for Wabash Avenue; Councilwoman Kern abstained on two Mustang Baseball Camp permits.
Council President Bucci read the council’s consent-agenda statement and, on a motion by Councilman Polistina seconded by Councilman Dewees, the council adopted Resolutions 84-2026 through 94-2026 by a roll-call vote recorded as in favor by all members present. Clerk Mary Canesi noted a correction to the agenda titles for Resolutions 85 and 86, changing the name shown from ‘Mainland’ to ‘Mustang’ Baseball Camp. Councilwoman Kern’s abstentions to Resolutions 85-2026 and 86-2026 were noted in the minutes.
The package of resolutions included: multiple facility-use approvals for youth baseball groups (Northfield Little League; Mustang Baseball Camp, June and July; Full Speed Baseball; 16U Sand Sharks; Shore Line Baseball), authorization to award a contract without public advertisement to Trinity Code Inspections, LLC for private on-site plumbing sub-code inspections (Resolution 90-2026, citing N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5), a contract award for supplemental private on-site sub-code inspections, approval of Work Change Order No. 1 – Final for the Reconstruction of Wabash Avenue (FY2024 NJDOT Municipal Aid Program), and a resolution to move into Executive Session regarding pending litigation (94-2026). The council recorded the consent agenda as carried.
