Council members introduced Ordinance 2-2026 on Feb. 10, beginning the formal public process required for any change to the municipal budget cap.
Ordinance 2-2026 is titled "Calendar Year 2026 Ordinance to Exceed the Municipal Budget Appropriation Limits and to Establish a Cap Bank (N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-45.14)." The municipal clerk read the ordinance by title and announced that the public hearing and final consideration will be held on Feb. 24, 2026; copies of the full ordinance were posted in City Hall and made available through the clerk—s office.
