Business Administrator/Business Administrator Canesi told council the city is engaged with affordable-housing partners, noting that Tunnels 2 Towers and Habitat were ramping up work and that professional fees for those projects have not declined. She cautioned that sewer upgrades might be required to support Tunnels 2 Towers and said the city should not cut currently-allocated professional-fee resources.
Council discussed the possibility of later needing sewer upgrades tied to development and the importance of not prematurely eliminating funds for planning. CFO Stollenwerk and Public Works agreed to monitor sewer flows and capital implications as planning for affordable housing proceeds.
