"Through this partnership, BGCK will operate youth programming during Summer 2026 and the 2026–2027 school year, focusing on academic enrichment, social-emotional development, and safe supervision for participating students," the presentation record states. The motion to approve was made by Trustee Dominique C. Alegria and seconded by Trustee Veronica R. Tijerina; the vote was 7–0.
Board members and community representatives noted private support for the effort: Susan Kibbe reported that the Ed Rachel Foundation will donate $25,000 to the Boys and Girls Club, a detail highlighted during public comments. The agreement authorizes the interim superintendent to finalize MOU language and logistics for hosting the program on BCISD campuses ahead of Summer 2026.
