District staff told the Brenham ISD board they will bring a comprehensive district improvement plan in October that sets measurable objectives and targets through 2026.
"In October, we will bring to you an entire comprehensive district improvement plan," a staff member said, explaining the process: a required comprehensive needs assessment followed by performance objectives tailored to close gaps for economically disadvantaged and special population students. The planner said the board-level goals map to campus improvement plans and prioritize measurable outcomes such as attendance, CCR (college, career and military readiness) indicators, and behavior supports.
Staff framed the objectives as a way to make accountability visible and to provide clear measures that show progress over time. The plan will include campus-level priorities and instructional strategies that the presenter said are designed to stretch targets while remaining realistic based on current performance trends.
The board is scheduled to receive the full district improvement plan and accompanying campus plans in October, after which members will have time to review and comment.
