The library director reviewed improvements to the interior collection and shelving, said the building needs a deep clean and lighting/carpeting attention, and noted limits on exterior renovation because of the building's historic designation. She asked the council for support to continue housekeeping and for permission to attend a library training session in Jackson on Aug. 18, proposing an overnight stay to attend the program.
Council members thanked the director for the work and indicated they would consider the travel request and housekeeping support. The director said a grant-era book delivery was due Friday and highlighted new children's reading technology recently purchased for the library.
