Center ISD board approves multiple personnel actions including resignations, hires and a contract renewal

Following a closed session called under Texas Government Code §551.071, §551.072, §551.074 and §551.129, the board returned to open session and approved multiple personnel matters. Trustee Casey Lout moved, seconded by James Ragan, to accept resignations and a retirement for contracted personnel including Cynthia Tiller (RRA Counselor, retirement); Samantha Coleman (RRA teacher); Lacy Meeks (FLM counselor); Deldric Shields (CHS teacher/coach); and Thelma Smith (CMS SPED teacher). The motion carried 6-0.
Separately, the board authorized Dr. Brian Morris to negotiate a settlement for a mid-contract termination of a Center High School teacher's contract. Trustees also approved employment recommendations for a list of new hires (names recorded in the minutes) and renewed the contract for teacher Rani Tomlin at Center Elementary School. All personnel motions recorded in the minutes passed 6-0.
