Contractors report storm repairs largely complete; junior-high gym floor and some roofing work remain

Contractors working for Brenham ISD told the board most of the emergency mitigation from recent storm damage is complete but several items remain. The mitigation contractor reported that third-party air-quality testing in affected junior-high areas and other buildings "came back excellent" and that removal and replacement of damaged drywall, ceiling tiles and carpet have been completed in many areas.
The junior-high gym floor is still outstanding with the mitigation contractor estimating 3–4 weeks to complete finishing work; the flooring subcontractor said the maple wood arrived and is being conditioned to the correct moisture before installation. A roofing representative said TASB had approved emergency coating work as a temporary measure and that final replacement scope, insulation removal and membrane replacement will be negotiated with insurance adjusters; in many buildings saturated insulation must be removed down to deck level before full replacement.
Board members asked about quality-control checks, walk-throughs and the expected timeline for permanent roof replacement; contractors said they will continue on-call services until insurance scopes are finalized and that TASB and the district are actively negotiating final scopes and pricing.
