Northfield introduces ordinance setting municipal salary ranges; public hearing set for Jan. 20

Councilman Smith moved and Councilwoman Kern seconded the introduction of Ordinance 1-2026, "Ordinance Providing for and Establishing Salary Ranges of Officers and Employees of the City of Northfield." The municipal clerk read the ordinance title, confirmed that this was the first reading and announced that the ordinance would be published in the Press of Atlantic City on Jan. 10, 2026, and that the public hearing and final consideration would occur on Jan. 20, 2026.
The clerk also noted that the full ordinance is posted in the lobby of City Hall and on the city website and that copies are available from the Municipal Clerk’s office during business hours until the public hearing. The council recorded the introduction by unanimous roll-call vote.
