Clint McLain, Executive Director of Business and Finance, told the board that "Due to a $59/month increase in the lowest-cost TRS-ActiveCare plan, Administration recommends raising the district's monthly contribution from $310 to $380 per employee." The administration said it used TASB's ACA calculator to keep the district in compliance and estimated the change would cost the district about $300,000 annually.
Trustee Fred Elder Jr. moved to approve the increase in district contribution to insurance benefits; Trustee David Acker seconded the motion, which the minutes record as Passed. The written vote in the minutes lists all seven trustees as voting "Yea." Earlier in the meeting record, however, the attendance line lists four trustees present and three absent; the minutes do not reconcile that discrepancy. The board did not identify funding offsets during the open session. The meeting adjourned at 12:33 PM.
