Chapel Hill ISD trustees voted June 16 to approve a $12 million renovation and reconfiguration of Bulldog Stadium, Superintendent Lamond Dean told the board. The project plan calls for a new press box, new bleachers, concessions, restrooms, a relocated home-side entrance and expanded parking on the south side.
Dean said the district would use excess fund balance to cover the full project cost so instructional budgets would not be affected. The motion to approve the renovation was made by Trustee Rickey Mosley and seconded by Trustee Fred Elder Jr.; the motion passed with five yeas and two absences recorded.
