Lindsay Montario, RN and CISD RN coordinator, summarized recent nurse training on the use of unassigned albuterol and presented proposed changes to the districts FFAC (Local) Wellness and Health Services Medical Treatment policy to implement that practice.
The committee discussed a recent incident in which a student was excluded from a planned activity for safety reasons, and Montario said the policy changes are intended to clarify practice and improve safety. Joyce Permenter, administrative assistant to the superintendent, moved to approve the revised FFAC (Local) policy; David Hailey, businessman and youth pastor, seconded the motion. The motion carried 7-0.
The council asked Permenter to contact the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) for any needed clarification on policy language and implementation. The meeting record notes the policy revision was approved at the April 16, 2025 meeting; the council subsequently adjourned at 8:50 a.m.
