FCBHA outlines Mental Health Month events, trainings and staffing continuity plans

"May 2025 is Mental Health Awareness Month. FCBHA will again sponsor a Mental Health Awareness Event/Summer Kick-off at Yough River Park on Thursday May 22. 2025," Mental Health Program Director Nicole Barak said. Barak said the unit had two retirements and two hires during the last quarter, has cross-trained program specialists to provide coverage and is adding two delegates with ongoing training. She also described a Mental Health Procedures Act training FCBHA co-hosted with the Fayette County Bar Association for judges, attorneys and guardian ad litem representatives and said similar trainings will be offered to hospital behavioral-health staff.
