Canadian ISD board approves canvass of Nov. 4 trustee election

The board recorded votes as follows: Bryan Bartlett — Yea; Rudy Godino — Yea; Heath Mitchell — Yea; Tatum Pennington — Yea; Kent Sisco — Yea; Jessica Cowden — Absent. The motion passed, Yeas 5, Nays 0, Absent 1.
The canvass is the board's formal certification step following the election. The special meeting was convened at 5:30 p.m. in the district administration building at 800 Hillside Ave., Canadian, Texas. The board completed the canvass and proceeded to other agenda items, including administering the oath to a newly elected trustee before adjourning at 5:32 p.m.
