Board adds PEIMS responsibilities to Special Programs Director and approves $8,000 stipend; elementary interventionist position tabled

The Chico ISD Board of Trustees approved adding PEIMS collection and reporting responsibilities to the Special Programs Director and authorized an $8,000 per year stipend for that role beginning July 1, 2026.
Trustee Chris Laney moved to add PEIMS responsibilities; Trustee Cassie Skinner moved (and the board approved) the stipend. The motion recorded in the minutes states: “I move that we approve adding a PEIMS Stipend, in the amount of $8000.00 per year beginning July 1, 2026 to the Special Programs Director as presented.” The vote on these items was recorded 6–0 with Trustee Jada Ayala absent for reconvene votes.
Separately, the board considered adding a Math/RLA interventionist at the elementary level but tabled that item. The minutes record the interventionist motion as tabled with no final approval recorded.
