County engineering warns of $1.5M slope-stabilization need, discusses multiple bridge projects

On Buckwheat Ridge the office is working on realignment options and will need to acquire right-of-way; S3 said the county may have to use eminent-domain powers if the property owner refuses to cooperate because state and federal funds require owned right-of-way.
S3 also reported a slope‑stabilization problem affecting roughly 400 feet of roadway with construction costs estimated at $1,500,000 and urged quicker action than the multiyear STIP process would allow. "Construction costs are estimated at $1,500,000 for the repair of that and stabilization of that," S3 said, and added he may request a special meeting to initiate design work and explore multimodal or state legislative avenues for faster funding.
