Board upholds administrative ban, denies Balderas' Level III grievance
Summary
At its May 11 meeting the Calallen ISD Board heard a Level III grievance regarding an administrative ban of Randy and Mrs. Balderas; after presentations from the parent and district administration the board upheld the prior determination and denied relief by a recorded 7–0 vote.
The Calallen ISD Board of Trustees opened a Level III grievance at 6:05 p.m. on May 11, requested by a parent concerning an administrative ban of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Balderas from district facilities. Board President Heather Luckenbach presided over the open‑session hearing. Mr. Balderas presented on behalf of himself and his wife. Superintendent Emily Lorenz and Principal Kim Rodriguez presented on behalf of district administration; both administration representatives summarized the grounds for the existing administrative ban during their presentation.
After presentations, rebuttals and summations, the board voted to uphold the Level II determination and deny the relief requested. The motion to deny relief was made by Edward Wells, seconded by Royce Cameron, and passed by a recorded vote of 7–0 (Luckenbach, Hatch, Walker, Cameron, Batek, Wells and Schulze voting yes). No further remedial action was recorded in the meeting minutes.
