Carthage ISD recognized students and staff Jan. 20: Gunner Walden (Elementary Student of the Month), Elton Velazquez (Secondary Student of the Month), teachers Kirbie Munden and Schelice Reyes, and support staff Sarah Nicolai.
The board opened its Jan. 20 meeting with named recognitions for students and staff. The minutes list the following recipients:
- Elementary Student of the Month: Gunner Walden, 1st grade, Carthage Primary. - Secondary Student of the Month: Elton Velazquez, 8th grade, Junior High. - Elementary Teacher of the Month: Kirbie Munden, 2nd grade. - Secondary Teacher of the Month: Schelice Reyes, 8th grade science teacher at Junior High. - Support Staff Member of the Month: Sarah Nicolai, school psychologist with the Panola County shared service arrangement.
