Carthage ISD calls May 2 election, names county registrar and seeks joint election with city

The appointment followed a motion by Mary Ella Sherman, seconded by Frank Willis, and passed with all trustees voting in favor. The board also approved negotiating a joint election resolution with the City of Carthage; that motion was made by Paul Beatty and seconded by Elzie Hicks and likewise passed unanimously.
The actions put in place the district’s administrative steps for the May 2 election and authorize the superintendent and staff to work with county and city officials to finalize joint-election arrangements, polling and coordination details.
