Two residents spoke during the public-comment portion of the Sept. 3 meeting. Mary Lou Childs said she opposed continuation of fluoride in the city's water supply. Mikhail Nichols expressed dissatisfaction with the city's administrative staff and with some of the city's police officers.
Mayor Scott Korthuis opened the public-comment period; both remarks were recorded in the minutes and no further public comment on those subjects was received at the hearing. The council did not take immediate action on either comment during the meeting.
