The Carrizo Springs Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees on April 21 approved two NIET LIFT grants totaling $405,999 for the 2026–2027 school year.
Board members approved a $126,022 grant earmarked for K–5 RLA/SLAR or K–5 Math and a separate $279,978 grant for “Any Content.” The items were included in the consent agenda and were approved in a single motion. Albino Doria moved to approve Consent Agenda items A–F, Oscar Morones seconded, and the motion carried 6–0 (Jeffrey Ortiz absent).
Superintendent Rose Pearson was present for the briefing portion of the meeting and the grants were listed on the consent agenda alongside routine items such as minutes and financial reports. The board’s vote completes the district’s acceptance of both NIET awards for the upcoming school year.
