Council names Arnold mayor pro tempore, sets 2026 workshop schedule

Mayor Jerrilea Crawford opened nominations for the 2026 Mayor Pro Tempore position. Councilmember Hepner nominated Councilmember Arnold and Councilmember Magdoff later also nominated Arnold; the council closed nominations and, by motion of Councilmember Hepner seconded by Councilmember Magdoff, confirmed Councilmember Arnold as Mayor Pro Tempore for 2026 by unanimous vote.
The council also voted to schedule all 2026 City Council workshops on the Thursday after the second council meeting of each month at 5:30 p.m.; the motion was made by Councilmember Johnson, seconded by Councilmember Castellente and passed unanimously. By consensus the council selected Councilmember Arnold to facilitate the 2026 workshop sessions.
Councilmember Magdoff’s motion to approve the 2026 committee and board assignments also passed unanimously.
