The CHRISTOVAL ISD Board of Trustees convened a special meeting Feb. 18, 2026, in the district administrative office in Christoval. Board President Caleb Kattner called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and confirmed a quorum of six trustees; Trustee Jared Green was absent.
Trustees approved a multi-item consent agenda, including previously unapproved minutes, the enrollment report, the statement/payment/ledger of current bills, and a change to move the March board meeting from March 18 to March 25. Trustee Katy Capron made the motion and Vice-President Reid Stultz seconded; the motion carried unanimously, 6-0. The board also voted, 6-0, to approve CHRISTOVAL ISD's HB2 Uncertified Teacher Plan after a motion by Trustee Jana Aguirre and a second by Vice-President Reid Stultz.
Board members received updates from Dr. Jack Campbell on CTX Performing Arts Center fundraising and from Tyser Robertson (Jacob|Martin) and Brandt Cox (Collier Construction) on ongoing construction projects. Athletic Director Coach Tanner McLean and principals Carla Barron, Sandy Wellmann and Coach Casey Otho presented routine reports. In Business Manager Kurt Bueker's absence, Superintendent Clint Askins reviewed financial documents and later gave a superintendent's report on district projects. Trustees entered a closed session at 8:01 p.m. under sections of the Texas Government Code and reconvened at 8:58 p.m.; no action resulted from the closed session. The meeting adjourned at 8:59 p.m.
