Burleson ISD board authorizes president to approve interim hires until October

At its Sept. 8 meeting the Burleson ISD Board of Trustees authorized the board president to approve new professional personnel hires between this meeting and the next regular meeting in October. Trustee Ryan Richardson made the motion, and Trustee Dallas Owen seconded it; the minutes record unanimous approval.
The motion specified that the board would later consider ratifying any hires at the October meeting. The action followed closed-session consideration of personnel matters; the minutes list closed-session statutory authority for personnel deliberations under Texas Government Code provisions (551.074, .0821, .0823). No individual hire names or positions were recorded in the open minutes for immediate approval.
The vote gives the board president temporary administrative authority to act on staffing needs until the board reconvenes and provides an opportunity for trustees to ratify those decisions in public session.
