After recessing to an executive session to discuss personnel matters, the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco Independent School District Board of Trustees reconvened in open session on Feb. 25 and accepted the resignations discussed in closed session. Marcos Garcia moved to accept the resignations; Monica Buentello seconded and the motion passed 6-0. The minutes note Debbie Garza left the meeting at 8:14 PM prior to that vote.
The board had cited Texas Government Code sections 551.071, 551.072 and 551.074 as the legal basis for the closed-session discussion on employment, reassignments, proposed nonrenewals and other personnel matters. The board did not discuss details of individual personnel actions in open session; the motion records acceptance of the resignations as reviewed in executive session.
